 Youngstown,
New York is a quaint and historic village located in the Town of
Porter where the Niagara River meets Lake Ontario. We are located
just 11 miles north of Niagara Falls, New York along the Canadian
border.
Youngstown is home to Old Fort Niagara and one of the first settlements
to grow outside of Fort Niagara in the late 1700’s.
We boast an abundance of waterfront parks where the splendor of
the Lower Niagara River can be seen from nearly every vantage point.
Here you’ll witness sunsets that will take your breath away.
The village offers the very best of small town America. The annual
Labor Day Parade and Firemen’s Field Days have been an anticipated
event for nearly a century. Every Friday evening from June through
August, Falkner Park, located in the heart of village, comes to
life with a free concert series. Here the Village Mayor Neil Riordan,
hardily greets the crowds with “Welcome to Mayberry”.
 In
the summer, Youngstown takes on a resort-like persona as hundreds
of yachts flock to the harbor for the Level Regatta, one of the
largest freshwater sailing competitions in the world. We are also
noted for our world class fishing opportunities.
A wide variety of small, independently owned businesses line our
main streets. Throughout our village, you’ll discover restaurants
that offer the gamut from home cooked comfort food to gourmet fare.
The membership of the Youngstown Business and Professional Association
stand ready to provide you with personal and business services that
are second to none.
The village offers quaint accommodations for those who wish to
extend their visit by a day and real estate services for those who

Our History
Named after John Young, the Village of Youngstown was established

Standing on a bluff above Lake Ontario is Old Fort Niagara, one
of our main attractions. This fort which is a national historic
landmark, has stood watch over our village since 1726. The colorful
history of the site began even earlier, and continues to the present
day. The fort, which really put Youngstown on the map, played an
important role in the struggles of France, Great Britain, and the
United States to control the Great Lakes region of North America,
and also helped shape the destinies of the Iroquois (Six Nations)
peoples and the nation of Canada.
 It
has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Niagara
area, featuring the oldest buildings in the Great Lakes, spectacular

of the bloodiest and most decisive battles of the French and Indian
